St Martin d'Heres celebrates Ireland with an exhibition of Mary Veale's art work, and initiation to the Irish language by Dan.  Vernissage Friday 27th September 6pm, Maison de Quartier Romain-Rolland, St Martin d'Heres. To check out the full programme click here.



The Library at Babel have hundreds (thousands?) of books in English.  NEW! From April 2013, memebership of the Celtic Connection entitles you to membership of the library. Come and browse the shelves at 2 rue St Ursule (behind the Cathedral) and their opening times are: 


  • Tuesday: 12:15-1:45 pm
  • Wednesday: 12-2 pm and 4:30-6 pm
  • Thursday: 4-6 pm
  • Friday: closed
  • Saturday: 3-5 pm

During the school holidays, the library is only open on Wednesdays

The Bookworm Cafe also have loads of books in English to buy and they serve tea and cakes.  They are situated 91 rue St Laurent (down from all those pizzerias, towards La Tronche).  They are interested in your books in English.   See their website for other information:  thebookwormcafe.wordpress.com
